It’s one of those films that isn’t silly just for the sake of being silly. There are definitely worse films made in the 2000’s in terms of acting, etc–see anything with Paris Hilton, any of the Not Another Teen movie progeny, but those movies are silly for the sake of being silly and aren’t trying to aspire to anything more.

Couple of notes:
1. I’m not just saying that because you’re my roomate. It’s an extremely well written article

2. I’m not just saying that because you study literature, and teach it, for a living. It really is a well written article.

3. The Happening was not the train wreck you make it out to be. M. Night Shyamalan has lost his touch (ok ok, he never had one) and this is downright terrible. But I can probably name 30 movies worse than this in the 2000’s.
